what a great help,
November 22, 2008

"The steel skidding tongs I purchased work fantastic. I have only begun to use them and started on a tree that they can barely get around. My mini excavator was the weak link in the process but the tongs got a grab and worked great never losing grip as I moved the tree up, down, and swung side to side as I wiggled it back and forth to drag it to a working area. I can only be thankful for the future time and labor this simple tool will be savng me."

Skidding Tongs...,
November 18, 2008
By Outdoorsman10

"I have owned these skidding tongs for 2 years. It is amazing how much weight they will pull. I have pulled downed trees up to 3 feet in diameter over 40 feet long and they just grab harder the more you pull. Releasing the tongs after skidding a tree is a simple matter of flipping them the opposite direction and pushing down on the ring end. I have also pulled wood fence posts that were buried 4 feet down. I would highly recommend these to anyone with property to clear or skidding operations."

TOUGH TONGS,

By WA00

"THESE TONGS ARE A LOT HEAVER BUILT THAN I EXPECTED, WHEN I ORDERED THEM, THE POINTS COULD BE A LITTLE SHARPER, BUT A FEW MINUTES WITH A FILE HELPED THAT PROBLEM. THEY WORK GREAT FOR ME SO FAR."

Not Bad!!!!,
August 18, 2008
By Weeks

"I ordered the tongs to use while removing some trees on my place. I use it behind a 50 hp tractor with a lift pole. after getting the pole set and attatching the proper length to the tongs it was like I had my very own small, personal skidder. Worked great. The tongs arrived undamaged and with plenty of freedom of movement, and quite sharp. In my application, (using the lift pole) a small amount of tapping is required to set the hook. Other than that, no problems!"

Logging and dragging,
August 18, 2008
By JESmith
from Fort Wayne, In.

"I love this tool. It has helped me out a lot. I have done everything from dragging 20+ foot logs out of the woods to carrying 500lb sections I have cut off.
I have a 1968 Massey Ferguson 35 tractor I use with a boom and these tongs connected directly to the end using a clevis. I do a lot of wood cutting of fallen trees and it has pulled me out of a jam many times. They can handle more than the boom.
If you do anything like this, these are definately worth their weight."

"These are heavy-duty and did a lot of work hoisting and moving 18" - 30" diameter logs, some 8' long. They were worth the price."

steel skidding tongs,
April 15, 2008
By AuroraOhio
from Aurora, OH
|
"This is a heavy duty log carrier. It is solid steel and is ideal for moving whole trees or individual logs. I used it to winch 150 lb. logs into my ATV cart. It saved me and my back. You could also use this to winch bales of hay or other items up into the top part of your barn. I would give this a rating of 5 stars."

Pulling logs with authority,
April 14, 2008
By jtauser
from St. Louis, MO

"My day job involves computers and an office environment, so I'm not much for pulling 200 pound logs up hills to get them out of the woods after I've cut them. I combined these tongs with a low-end 12 VDC winch hanging off my truck's trailer ball and some chains and was able to pull 22" x 24" logs up to the road where I could split and load them."

Life Saver,
April 14, 2008

"I used these with the bucket of my 30 hp tractor. I attach them to the bucket to lift several logs at a time. A little more sharpening on the ends and they are ready to go, grip tight and lift well. I even used them to pull posts out of the ground with extreme ease. They are made for skidding but I primarly use them for lifting the logs off the ground and bringing them to a staging area to be cut up for firewood. Depending on the situation, I'll use one or two of the these to lift and transport logs."
