draw knife,September 14, 2009
By mabelfrom las vegas
"Received this knife and it was very dull. Not sure how sharp it is supposed to be but it was very heavy and the blade was thick. You would think it would do the job but it is dull, dull, dull, dull."

"Received the Draw Shave today and it looks to be a high quality USA made tool. I debarked a number of different species 6 -8 inch diameter trees, both green and dry, that I'll be using for posts and support braces on a fire wood shelter I'm building. I highly recommend this tool."

Good Heavy-duty tool!,January 21, 2008
By Scoutmaster77from MI
"This is a good, heavy-duty tool! Not sure about the previous review, but my draw shave came with nylon lock nuts that have stayed tight during hours of use. I would have given it 5-stars had it come with a blade guard. It looks like there is a blade cover in the pictures when you order but mine did not have one when delivered. I remedied this on my own with a short length of hose but it would have been nice if it was included as shown. Anyway, I have Boy Scouts who use it to de-bark and shape trees & limbs for various projects and it works great!! Good quality steel and easy to sharpen. It's one of their favorite tools."

"Nice tool. It works great. I would have given it 5 stars however the nuts that hold the handles to the steel blade come loose as you use it. Not good."

Draw Shave,March 7, 2007
By JMichaelfrom Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio
"I haven't used the draw shave yet, but have about ten medium trees that I need to debark this after they fell down last year in a storm. I saw the draw shave listed in the Northern book and thought it would be great for removing the bark from all the trees. It's very heavy duty and well made unlike a regular draw plane which is a lot lighter and not really made to remove tree bark. Hopefully it will prove to be a usefull tool. JMP"
