"this device works reasonably well on SMALL logs. this device does NOT work well on LARGE pieces of OAK. Don't fool yourself, spend the money and get a real log splitter or suffer the splitting of your hands."

"Use it frequently, to split wood into smaller pieces fireplace size. Not even work; It's almost like excersize. let this tool just do its' work. Even my wife can use it easily. The main safety problem is to keep your fingers away from the bottom of the movable weight. Good to have if you have wood easily available. Its' a little pricey but does the job very well."
