4 way split.,
November 18, 2008
By Ollie

"Works good with the right size wood. I will make a seperate pile that is all the right size then split it all at once. I used a hand held grinder to sharpen it some and it make it work much bette. I have a splitter that is on the smaller side. but over all works great."

log splitter slip on wedge,
August 13, 2008
By Boone1946

"Good quality made item. Unfortunately, it was not easily and safely adaptable to my non-Northern brand splitter,so I had to return it. Iwould highly recommend the part to anyone who has a Northern brand splitter that it is designed to fit. It would save a lot of time, effort, and gas."

Time Saver,
August 11, 2008
By tool4u

"What a great time saver. If you're tired of handling logs twice as much as necessary you have to get this 4 way splitter. Not only does it cut your splitting time in half but it cuts the amount of log handling by half...and for those of us over 50...need I say more. One tip - I needed to weld my 4 way splitter wedge over the current wedge on my splitter (used my Northern Tool Auto Darkening Helmet), if you do this consider exactly where you want it located based on size of logs you split. I tend to get larger timber (12" plus diameter). In hindsight I should have welded it higher on the wedge to get a more even 4 way split of the log (instead I placed it dead center). You can't make your own for this price!"

Sturdy Wedge,
January 21, 2008
By Arrowthwr

"I was surprised to find it well built and easily adapted for my use on my home built log splitter. I also purchased the extra wedge pieces to convert it to a 6 way wedge later on and it is still holdin up well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a well built product."

Buy It! you will be glad you did!,

"This sure speeds up the splitting job! It seems to be a bit pricey for all there is to it but it is a great idea. The steel is really soft and can be dinted easily. So be careful because your ram may be able to smash into it. I have welded and ground the leading edge on mine, even though it still worked fine."

Half the time,
October 8, 2007
By CrashVT

"I wish I had bought one of these years ago. It fit nicely over the wedge on my splitter and worked wonderfully. In addition to makeing four pieces instead of two it is a wider angle than my original wedge and splits pieces much faster. It has easily saved me half the time it used to take me to my annual batch of firewood."

I could tell that the logs that will be done in a short time. 3or 4 cords will get split by one person in a short time, in 1 day. I'm HAPPY"

Log splitter helper,
March 6, 2007
By aaguns

"You will probably have to use a wooden wedge or dowel to get the blade tight on your single blade, but once you have the four-way on, you will be a very happy wood spliter! You can do your splitting in half the time and every log comes out great! The only caution is this...If your pusher has raised welds on it, beware of pushing the log all the way to the stops. The raised portion of the pusher will dent the blade of the 4-way spliter when it makes contact at the end of the stroke. If you stop the pusher about an inch from the end you will have no giant nicks in your new 4-way like I do!"
