Powerhorse Chain Saw, November 2, 2009

"I purchased this chain saw for my 14 year old son who is a real outdoorsman. This saw has been perfect for him. It starts quickly, maintains a cutting edge on the chain through several tanks of fuel and has proven to be durable. He has used this saw to construct several shooting blinds in getting ready for deer season and in cleaning up tree falls on our property. This is one great saw and one I would recommend to anyone looking for a non-commercial chain saw for general use. Great value and a good product."

Great chainsaw - the Powerhorse Chain Saw - 16in., July 13, 2009

"I made a novice's mistake in estimating the oil/gas mixture because I am a novice with this my first purchased chainsaw. One person told me I could use regular auto oil. Maybe you can; I may try that one day, but not unless I am at home and not in a time when I need to use the chainsaw for a wood cutting job.

I looked at a lot of chainsaws online and saw the high priced spread options to buy. I chose the Powerhorse Chain Saw — 41cc, 16in. Bar because of it's specifications, which were plenty for my needs. That turned out to be very true once I carefully measured the correct 50:1 ratio of gas to oil. It flat out would not start with my guess mixture.

Once I got my head on strait and correctly put the correct oil/gas mix into the Powerhorse gas tank, it ran very well. Now I see how critical it is to get the oil/gas mixture pretty exact. With ease & just the weight of the unit, it buzzed a perfectly straight cut through a 13" log of cherry wood, confirming my early belief that the Powerhorse would do as good a job as a Husky, Skil, or any other consumer model of chainsaw at ~ 50% to 75% of the cost of the big seller names.

Sure, I am very pleased with the Powerhorse Chain Saw — 41cc, 16in. Bar & naturally would recommend it to any consumer. I even bought a spare 14" bar & chain and a spare 16" chain, so I would have what I need for most wood cutting that I expect to be doing & in case I dull a chain in the woods or am cutting smaller wood stock. Commercial units may be a different story, for which I have no information to justify an opinion, but for the occasional homeowner consumer, I do not see how you could do better!"
