good for bucking wood,
October 19, 2009
By jimintheboat
from Northwestern Colorado
"This sawhorse is very good for the money. It folds easily for storage, which my old scrap 2x4 bucking sawhorse did not. The serrated "teeth" grabs wood and holds it so my chain saw doesn't get bound up as easily. The galvanized metal ensures that the unit will last several years. The only issue I had with it is the inferior nuts & bolts that come with it. I replaced several of them with better hardware within the first couple of uses."

Loggers sawhorse,
September 25, 2009
By St1
from Leavenworth, Kansas
"This is a great back saving product. I have not had loosening hardware, if I did I would just weld it together as it folds up for easy storage. I bought two. With two you can lay a whole 20 -25 foot tree in both and keep on cutting without continually resetting."

Loggers sawhorse.,
July 14, 2009
By logtool
from New York State
"I purchased two of these.
The hardware broke on the first one, used Grade 5 hardware to repair.
Used Grade 8 hardware when assembled the second rack.
For light branches and a small saw the rack is ok.
To do volume firewood the original hardware broke, and the uprights bent.
Do not drop wood on rack, this caused distortion to all the members.

almost great,
May 16, 2009
By JBoy

"If you can get past the inadequacy of the fasteners and poorly written assembly instructions you'll be rewarded with a great product. Durable, uncomplicated, and easy to transport. I just don't understand why Northern Tool has not acted to fix the fastener problems noted by many of the reviewers. I went ahead and ordered the product despite the past criticisms thinking by now they would have made some improvements. Wrong."

Not bad,
April 7, 2009
By Blaine
from ND/MN
"Not a bad unit for the price. Works well and is light enough you can pack it into the woods by hand.
As with the other people who have reviewed this unit, I used it once and then replaced all of the hardware with stainless steel bolts and nylock nuts so I don't have to constantly tighten them.
I also went over the whole unit with a file and deburred the sharp edges and corners since I have kids that will be around it and didn't want to deal with any little cuts.

sawhorse,
November 17, 2008
By Bruce54
from Montgomery, NY
"Made cutting 14 cords of wood much much easier and a whole lot safer. No runaway when cutting smaller logs, kept them right in place. My only recomendation would be stronger screws, but the ones supplied worked just fine, unless of cousre you put on log that exceeds the weight limit. The sawhorse even stayed together then. I'm very pleased with it."

Professional,
April 21, 2008
By Gary616
from Galloway, NJ
"The concept is what drove me to purchase this product. The product is made of very sturdy alumium but the bracing is worthless. The nuts and bolts that came with the product are unusable, I had to go to my local hardware store and purchase ($5.00) of my own nuts and bolts in order to make this product sturdy. On my first attempt it crashed to the ground, so I again went to the hardware store ($8.00) and purchased a metal drill bit and additional nuts and bolts and then using some metal angle I had laying around I fashioned additional side bracing. Now this product works just fine but after I spent several frustrating hours and ($13.00) to fix the manufactures flaws with this product. In hindsight I should have just sent the product back and made my own sawhorse. I will be calling the customer service dept. for a refund of monies spent towards fixing this product into a usefull piece of equipment."

Loggers Sawhorse,
March 17, 2008
By Ed9999
from Washington state
"The concept is fine, but a little more bracing would help. I had to have this sent twice as there were nuts/bolts missing. It would be better if you threw away all the nuts/bolts/screws provided with the product and bought a better quality to assemble the product. These were poor quality and difficult to put the nuts on the machine screws. (This will reduce the number of bandages for cuts received from the edges of the legs). All of these issues are manufacturer in nature and Northern provided good service."
