"I bought the clutch for a 3 wheeled bicycle I was building. The clutch is attached to a 3 hp Briggs and Stratton engine. It works great. Be sure to read the instructions on the package the clutch comes in. It might save some injury."

"I really would not advise you to buy this product because the outside of the keyway breaks. I cannot find another brand but, please do not blame Northern tool, but you can blame Hillard Extreme."

"Me and my Dad built a go-kart with this clutch and it is silent as nothing. If the 5 hp briggs engine we put on there would be no noise at all. Great clutch."

Centrifugal Clutch,
April 21, 2008
By Muzzafrom Melbourne Australia
"I had promised my boys we would build a go-kart. We had an engine, but needed some Go Kart plans, chain, cogs and clutch. Northern Tools had it all. I really mean, had it all. We ended up purchasing a steering wheel, tie rods, wheels, axels, chain, brake and accelerator lever and the Hilliard Extreme-Duty centrifugal clutch. We welded up the frame and mounted the engine. When they say heavy duty, they mean it. The boys are 12 and 14. But I also wanted to have a run on the go-kart. So we need tough components. The clutch is really amazing. There is no gear box, so a lot of the torque conversion is handled by the clutch. We have used the Go-kart for hours on end and the clutch never over heated and always performed amazingly. This clutch is 110% tough and I fully recommend it. And all the Go-Kart parts are exactly what they say and easy to use. Northern Tools made our project end up like a professional job."

"i purchased this clutch recently for my sons 5.5 hp mini bike. when I got it in the mail the hole that tightens it down to the shaft wasn't threaded. when i tapped it my self, then tightened it on it seemed to work alright. After one week of riding, it wore out and broke. I would not recommend this clutch ( though maybe I just got a lemon)."

"I bought one of these for my son's minibike. Lasted 2 months. Definitely was not worth the money. It did work great at first but definitely not extreme duty."
