No foreign oil, January 14, 2008
By kingspine from Winthrop, Maine

"The entire experience w/Northern Tool was ideal. I started locally shopping for wood stoves and gathering info, pricing and installation. Ending my search thru google, I found you. Although I was already aware of your business, you kept popping up during my 8-10 hour search. From the ease of ordering to your customer serrvice and finally the delivery I could not have been happier. It has been an Old Style Winter here in Maine and the Drolet has allowed us to turn the thermostat off and stay off since I installed the Drolet. Your price was nearlly half of all other compatible stoves. Again thank you and you will see my business again.

Mark"

"This stove seems to be very efficient. Fires last 12 hours when the air is set to minimum. Only problem is the window gets a black residue and requires quite a hot fire to burn it clean."

Great Stove, October 19, 2009
By Darwin from Northern TIer of PA

"We bought this to replace our Consolidated Dutchwest (Vermont Castings) stove. Couldn't be happier. Tip: Follow the directions when tending the fire. You will not have any "smoke" issues if you have a proper chimney. Just make sure you feed it some air before you try and put the wood on.
This stove burns extremely clean and hot. I love being able to load it front to back or side to side. And it burns large splits easily. We are heating 3600 Sq feet with this unit, 20 deg nights here now and so far the problem is keeping the fire controlled enough to avoid the house getting too hot. On 1/2 load of wood we get an overnight burn of about 10-12 hours and wake up to a hot stove and plenty of coals. I have no doubt that we will be toasty when it's -20 deg here in Jan. Wishing I would have had this stove years ago.
As far as the complaints about the noisy fan, it's quieter than our humidifier. Depending on the heat output, the fan mount occasionally set up a light vibration but that was solved by tightening the mounting screws a bit.
All in all, well worth the money and with the tax credit, a steal."

Drolet Myriad, July 21, 2009
By N9ZSV from Western Arkansas

"Delivered much faster than expected. Arrived in perfect condition. Very heavy and solid construction. Works very well, plenty of heat in my poorly insulated home.
Large firebox holds fire all night. With over 12 feet of chimney going straight up through the roof I get no smoke in the house. Although there are no pot lids I can cook on the top of the stove. As we get some long power failures here in the winter and my house is all electric I really like the fact that I can stay warm, cook, and heat water as long as I need to. Previously my kitchen was too cold for bread to rise, now I just put it near the stove and get nice full loaves. I put the stove in the dining room which is close to the center of the house and it heats the whole place. In fact I usually end up closing my bedroom door to avoid getting too warm. I can't think of a thing I'd change about it."

Drolet Myriad 70,000 BTU Wood Stove, March 16, 2009
By STWalt from North Central, PA

"This is a great wood stove. Puts out a lot of heat, so much that I rarely use the built-in blower on the back of the stove. This winter was very cold, with the cold temps. holding on longer than our average winter. The only down side is that the manufacturer recommends you shut the stove down to clean out the ashes from the firebox. The clean-out hole from the firebox to the large ash pan is small and a little hard to get at. When it's time to push the ashes into the pan I let the fire burn down to a few coals and push them to the back of the firebox. Then dig out the little pan cover, and clean what I can get quickly. Place the cover back on the opening, and pull the hot coals to front and fire back-up."

"My family and I have purchased the Dorlet Myriad wood stove, the best investment we have made in awhile. This stove is well worth the money. We have a 1800 square home and we heat the ENTIRE home with just this stove. Tempertures stay around 76 in all rooms. Customer service was great, shipped exactly when we were told because there was a back order on it. Missing a hook to open door for ash pan called customer service they took care of right away. No more high electric bill. Specs on stove are right on. Easy to load and start, little kinnling and a fire starter and you have a nice fire. This stove burns 8 to 10 hours loaded. No more logs rolling out onto floor can load vertical and horizonal. Ash pan great ideal. We burn season hardwood. Awesome stove, awesome price and awesome customer service. Highly recommend this stove."

Drolet Myriad stove, November 19, 2008
By Fireman71 from South Bend, PA

"I have to say I'm loving the heat that comes from this stove. It can roast you out of the room if you're not careful. We installed the stove on the second floor of our two and a half story house and it has taken care of the top two floors and cut the furnace use down dramatically. It was relatively easy to install and to light. So far its been easy to maintain and we haven't had any problems with smoking. It's so easy to add wood to, that our teenage son does it. Really like the ash tray feature in the bottom. Makes it convenient to clean. If I could change anything, it would be to make the tray bigger and able to handle while hot. The fan (on high) can be a bit noisy also. I would definitely recomment this product to anyone. Well worth the money."

Master Carpenter, November 12, 2008
By DannyNJ from NJ

"This product is very efficient. We own an 1800 square foot home that is two stories. When lit the down stairs stays at a constant temperature of 76 degrees and the heat travels upstairs stays at a comfortable 73 degrees.Once having the stove lit,the air intake control makes controlling the heat and flame very simple(once getting use to it).At night we load it up with wood(10:30)and it keeps the whole house warm all night. The air intake makes controlling the wood burn rate at a constant.I would recommend this stove to anyone. It is well worth the money spent(especially with the blower included). We are very happy with it. HINT: Keep the blower on low or you'll heat yourself out of the room.Great product.
Sincerely,
Danny NJ"

A disappointment, February 2, 2008
By JBEE from Colorado

"As usual, Northern customer service was great, but this stove is not what we hoped. It's very hard to get fire started, it needs frequent attention-no more overnight loads. It's messy-impossible to load without ashes spilling out and smoke coming into room. Yes, my chimney is correct, I use dry wood and follow directions very carefully. I'm not sure this stove was tested at altitude with woods available in Colorado. For whatever reason, we wish we knew then what we know now."

Drolet Myriad wood stove, January 22, 2008
By lurch1 from NJ

"Very efficent and out of the different wood stove I had this cut down big time on amount of wood I use. Less ash to clean up and easy to control heat. The cost of this stove was very reasonable"
