Minor confusion, October 26, 2009
By SafetyGuy from North Dakota

"I just finished installing the 45,000 BTU model. It took me approximately 6 hours to set up the gas line, 120V line and vent stack. There are just a lot of little things that need to be set up before hanging the unit. I mounted two pre-drilled angles in the ceiling to hang the heater from using j-hooks. This allowed me to level the unit. I made a platform to set the heater on and then used my Third Hand tool to lift it the remaining 6 inches to hang the hooks through the angles.
The electrical knockout didn't knockout. I had to drill mine out.
The biggest issue I had was a label on the wiring harness connection that said connect the power source to a location contrary to the manual wiring schmatic. I am waiting for an explanation from the company on this one.
The thermostat connection points are described in the manual if you read it carefully.
I have two issus with the heater. It is not quiet as advertised. The unit is in an attached garage and is easily heard in the house when the fan kicks on. The vent pipe going to the stack gets hot when the unit is on so I hope not too much heat is going up the stack. The advertisement said it was over 80% efficient.
Make sure you run a screw through the transition piece coming off the vent fan. As I attached my 3" vent piping to it, the transition came loose.
The 3" vent pipe I used did not seem to fit well on the vent fan fitting. There was a 1/16 gap all around so I had to cut the vent pipe to compress down around the fitting. I used a high temp chalk on all my vent connections.
Otherwise the unit is small and out of the way giving me back some needed floor space. It seems well made."

"I recieved my heater quickly and started installing that weekend. Purchasing the required plumbing and venting equipment locally I was finshed in a matter of hours with the help of two friends. It's always a little intimidating when first starting a new heater, but it fired up with no problems after the inital burnoff it is odorless and smokeless and runs quietly. It brought my 2 car garage from 48 degrees to 66 degrees in a matter of 25 minutes. It's like adding an extra room to my house. I would recommend the heater 100%."

Perfect for my dog house/mother inlaw suite, March 23, 2009
By Dustpan from Virginia

"I had been setting up my workshop with all of the necessary items for comfort such as phone, cable, AC and of coarse heat. I have been looking for a bit to find the right heater and I decided on this one. After I picked it up from Northern tool and got it installed I started asking myself why I hadn’t done this years ago. When I first turned the unit on my shop was down to 38 deg and within 20 mins my shop had gotten to a nice 68. I have the unit set up with a thermostat so that when I am not in the shop I can turn the temp down but still have it above freezing as I don’t want my glues freezing and in just a few mins of going out to the shop I can be in my T-shirt working away – having fun.

So now when I am in the dog house or when my mothering law shows up
at least we will be warm."

heater, March 16, 2009
By Paullan

"I ordered the heater a couple months ago. It came in really quick. I was impressed.
till I opened the box and found the fan was not attached.I took the fan out from the guard and put it back together.the screws were all there.but I should not have to do that.
I have not installed the heater yet I will review it again when I install it."

Great little heater, March 16, 2009
By mtnbiker from Bismarck, N.D

"I am very impressed with the function of this heater. I was a little worried at first that the heater wouldn't keep up because my garage is a triple stall 850 square foot garage with a 10 foot ceiling. It works great and keeps it right at 45 degrees even when it is well below zero. it will also get it to 70 without a problem in a very short time period. It is a very quiet unit and installation wasn't too difficult. Great product!"

45,000 BTU Mr. Heater, March 16, 2009
By AdamJ from Charlton, MA

"I bought this heater for my 20x22 2 car garage with 9 foot ceilings. With the garage being insulated this heater will bring the temperature up from 36 degrees to 58 degrees in about 10 minutes. The heater runs very quietly. With a digital thermostat I am able to control the fan independently to move some air around without running the heat. This is a great heater."

45000 btu max heater, March 1, 2009
By cdeem from DeWitt IA.

"I installed this furnace last fall. Installation was easy. I keep my 20X30 garage at 48 degrees 24/7. The furnace uses about 1.3 gal. of propane a day in a Iowa winter. The fan was quite noisy at the beginning, but a few oilings quieted it down dramaticaly. I am quite happy with this product, and would recommend this to someone else."

Garage Heater, January 22, 2009
By ashade from Colorado

"Unit was easy to install. Does heat very well. My shop is 25' X 30' and it does O.K.. Probably would do better in a 2 car garage. I have added 2 small ceiling fans to force heat down since I have a 15' ceiling."
