"I have a wood burning stove that would heat the wall beind it to a point that was very hot to the touch. Even though I have the heat rated brick paneling, it was still uncomfortably hot. Anyway, I placed this heat shield between the stove and the wall and noticed an obvious difference. The wall behind the stove that was once hot to the touch is now cool. This heat shield worked perfectly. I would recommend this product."

"I recently installed a new coal fired stove in my home and was concerned about radiant heat exposure to adjacent walls. The stove was installed in accordance to the manufacturers spec.'s however the drywall construction still got fairly warm. I wasn't particularly impressed by the fake brick type of heat shields available. When I saw the freestanding unit in my Northern catalog, I said "this is it!" Relatively inexpensive, easy to move and clean, looks like part of the stove...and does a great job of reflecting heat. No more hot walls, all of the heat is out in front of the stove.
