tree sprayer,

"Over all this product works well. I use it to spray about 12 fruit trees and a few ornamental plants. My only complaint about the product is that it can not maintain the high pressure needed to reach the top of my regular size apple trees. You have to stop spraying for about 10 seconds and wait for it to build up pressure and then continue spraying. It works well on my dwarf and semi dwarf tress under continual use, but not the standard size trees. It works much better then a standard sprayer and has a much better range. This is my second such unit. The other one I use to spray weed killer on willows and other scrub brush on the farm fence lines. Same pluses and minuses with both units."

Cattle Sprayer,
July 20, 2009
By omochoa

"I use this pump to spray pesticide on about 80 head of cattle. It works pretty good on a Kawasaki Mule car, as I go around the corral and spray from about 20 feet away. It works great as long as the wind doesn't pick up past 10 mph and sweeps away the pesticide.
Pros: convenient, portable, does the job
cons: 1.) Can't give it a five since when i first ordered it the tie-down straps were not included, but i called customer service and they shipped them out the next day.
2.) I have to pick a non-windy day to spray or I won't get more than 10-15 feet out of it.
3.) Makes a hissing sound at 180+ PSI, but later saw that the extra pressure shoots back into the tank through one of the hoses.
Overall, does the job..."

"I have been using this sprayer since spring to spray fruit trees and herbicides I am really pleased with the performance of this product. Sturdly built and provides plenty of pressure to reach the tallest trees. I would highly recommend this product"

I'm a professional exterminator,

"I purchased this product back in 2005. I use it daily for my pest control business. I run it through 300 ft of hose and still get enough pressure at the sprayer end to easily reach the eaves at the top center of any two story house. Clean the screen every couple weeks and the tank once a month and it works as good as the day I bought it. I have used equipment costing 10 times as much and found this to be about as efficient and much easier to maintain. I'm getting ready to purchase another one for my second vehicle."

NorthStar ATV Tree Sprayer--16 Gallon, 1 GPM. 12 V,

"I find this sprayer to do an excellent job of spraying my fruit trees. It reaches the top of all my semi dwarf and dwarf varieties. It is so easy and compact compared to the one I used to mount on the tractor. Another use that I find to be exceptional is in spraying pesticides on livestock. We use it out in the pasture and spray the cattle while they are eating range cubes. We use to have to get them into a corral and now just scatter the protein cubes on the ground in a line, the cattle eat them and pay no attention to the spraying. We just set the unit in the back of a pickup and it saves hours of labor. You can spray a 100 head in only minutes. We use only a recommended spray and follow Manafacturers recommendations. We also rinse the sprayer with clean water after each use. I rate this unit as excellent"

Good Idea- falls short in quality,
November 18, 2008
By WallaWalla

"I have owned this product for several years and use for spraying trees, weeds and occasionally for light pressure washing. It is a product I like and hate. What I like: - relatively high pressure but it does not reach the advertised 200lbs and certainly is well below 100lbs while spraying. - long hose - relatively inexpensive - optional spray boom
What I hate: - the trailer it came with is a joke and a waste of time on anything but pavement or smooth lawn. I gave up on it and just strap the sprayer to my ATV rack. - spray gun worked okay (not great) for about 6 months. Then the plastic started breaking and jammed internally. It broke when I tried fixing it. - It has a difficult time priming itself. - the hose clamps that are used on the hose fittings require constant attention and re-tightening - pump is fragile and without some vigilance can be broken."

Well built and works great,

"We use it for all types of applications. Washing to spraying of chemicals. Mixes the chemicals so you don't have to premix your chemicals. Easy to drain and wash out too. We use ours with a battery minder and a deep cycle 12v battery. Comes with everything you need. Works great and you can tell it's well built. Not meant to be abused, you can break the pump off of the attachment if you are too rough."

NorthStar tree spayer,
July 21, 2008
By Anonymous

"In my view, most reviewers are being too kind about this product - the unit will NOT produce 200 psi as claimed, and NorthStar can't help but knows this The problem is not in the PumpTec pump - the pump IS capable of 200 psi, but the pressure regulator that is apparently added by NorthStar will only allow pressure to build to 160 psi when there is no flow through the spray gun, and the pressure will fall off to about 60 psi when spraying. This is sufficient to spray about 25-30 feet up into a tree, so if the trees are small, this may be sufficient. Another minor deficiency of this design is the way the pump, pressure regulator, pressure gauge, and fittings are so exposed and vulnerable to damage. I broke mine the first time I used it and had to buy a new face piece for the pump. It is just not a rugged design and the user needs to be very careful. The pressure regulator can be modified (presumably at the expense of the warranty) by removing the knurled nut and spring, and then filing off the housing so that when the nut is replaced, the spring can be compressed further. I did this to mine and was able to get 200 psi, but it did not help much because the pump volume is low and it still falls off to an output pressure of about 60 psi once spraying commences by pulling on the spray gun trigger."

Indoor and outdoor nursery,

"I have this sprayer for about two years. I am a commercial grower. 4 greenhouses 30'x100'. I don't think you really get a 30' spray out of it but I would say a good 20' easy. It does the work I want it to do. Like the pressure, it spikes at 195psi but drops down to 165/175psi when you open it but still strong enouph for me. Like the diffrend settings atomiser, mist and strait. So far I think it's the best bang for your buck. If you are getting into greenhouses and you are starting with a 30x100 greenhouse or so, don't mess with the back sprayers or the 60psi battery powered, go with this one you will not regret it."
