Poorly designed,
October 9, 2008
By AB1LL

"It is poorly designed with widely spaced teeth on just one side. It is almost impossible to orient the chain with the teeth touching the limb. The chain has a natural tendency to place the teeth facing up away from the limb. The chain needs more cutting teeth to give it smooth action without getting wedged in the cut. A commando wire saw works better. The weak clip holding the throwing bag to the rope failed the first time the bag got snagged on a 1/4" limb. I replaced it with real rope clip. I had to add 5" long handles to the rope to develop enough pulling force."

24-inch Rope Saw,
August 18, 2008
By 1340vt

"This product is worthless on any high-limb greater than a pencil in size. The steep angle of the pull causes the teeth to bite into the limb and wedge the chain. It is practically impossible for one person to operate the device. If too much force is applied to the ropes, they either break or pull-out at the point of attachment to the chain. I tried this saw on pecan, pine and hickory with the same poor results every time. Save your money and purchase a very long ladder."

High Limb Rope Chain Saw,
January 14, 2008
By FrankL

"Every homeowner should own a Rope Chain Saw. It is easy to use and it works every time. It doesn't cost anything to use i.e. no gas or oil. The Rope Chain Saw is easy to store. The saw also has a "WOW" factor when people see it being used. It make a great deal of sense to own either the short or the long Rope Chain Saw or even both!"

Rope Chain Saw 24 in.,
October 15, 2007
By splatman

"This product works but with problems. The chain tends to gets caught in the saw slot when the limb bends just before it separates from the tree. This might be prevented if I stand directly under the limb I am sawing, not a wise thing to do. It takes a lot of energy just to saw a small limb, many back and forth movements of my arms, perhaps because there appear to be too few saw blades on the rope. My advice: save your money and purchase an extendable pole tree limb saw with a regular saw blade."

"The high limb rope saw was made for people who want to get the job done from the ground. Tried and tested, used and proved, it works great and takes half the time it would take to use a latter. Only wish i had bought the 36" instead of the 24"."

Excellent investment,
March 11, 2007
By Mace

"Almost like a knife through butter. Simple to use, just throw the included bean bag over the branch your wanting to cut, pull the chain into place and have at it. Takes no more than a a minute to cut through a 6-8" diameted limb. The only problems I've encountered is that ocassionally the chain will get stuck if you don't maintain the same relative angle of cut through the whole cut. Widening the angle with which you pull the chain is all that is usually required to free the chain. Overall I give the product 2 thumbs up."
