"tough unit. Suprisingly the briggs engine starts on the first pull, and runs well. Alot of plastic on the engine. Cuts heavy brush and small trees. Became disconnected and broke the cable. Swisher very good about replacing. Only used about ten hours , but so far very pleased. Make sure well connected."

Engine issues,
November 19, 2008
By renohio

"This is a solid built piece of machinery. The deck, blades, tongue and height adjustment are all solid. It is very rugged and works great except for the Engine. The Briggs & Stratton engine is a hard starting engine to begin with. If you run out of gas, which isn't hard to do with the small tank provided, the engine will not re-start until it has cooled down."

Many parts easily broken,
November 18, 2008

"I would recommend only using this for lightweight mowing on smooth surfaces. I had all kinds of parts break, and I thought I was being rather nice to the unit. The place where the 2 sections of the tongue connect to each other cracked and came apart. The welds where the rear tongue piece attach to the frame broke. The bearing/shaft unit cracked at the point where the lower bearing is and the bearing broke & fell out. Worst of all, the main frame cracked badly where the bearing/shaft unit goes through it to the blades. I took great care to make sure that the blades were always swinging freely since imbalances caused by stuck blades can place great stress on any unit, and I kept it to a very slow speed. Lastly, it tended to eat up belts so always buy the best Kevlar belts you can find. On the positive side, it pulls nicely and the engine runs great though it tended to bog down."

Swisher Trailcutter,

"This machine can be described with 1 word. NASTY! The advertisement from Swisher is right on. If you can roll over it with your ATV, this thing will cut it. Used it first time this weekend to clear about 10 acres for hunting and it cut everything! It went thru cat tails, 3 foot wet canary grass, honeysuckle and 1 1/2" saplings like they were butter. Electric start worked flawlessly. This size is perfect to fit in a small trailer with your 4 wheeler to haul around. I used a 6 X 10 enclosed and when you remove the tow bar, both the mower and your ATV fit. Had no negative issues at all. Very satisfied."

Tough Lil Bush Hog,
April 21, 2008
By AHoy

"Designed good , cuts 6 foot black berry thickets with ease, if your 4 wheeler can push it over this will mow it, hickory is the only tree that gives it grief. Powerful 14.5 hp engine. Remote control harness is to short, I was mowing and hit a high spot and the hitch pin clevis pulled out and the harness was pulled out by the roots, I had to replace the cable and rewired it. Another problem I've had is when you hit high ground or run over something tough like a hickory tree, the blades sometimes tighten themselves Ive had to use a pipe wrench and a 2 ft. cheater pipe to loosen, since have replaced with longer shouldered bolts to correct problem allowing bolt to tighten before it tightens on the blades."

"This was just the ticket to clear up around our fields, trails and pond. Minor adjustments necessary for application -- ours behind a six wheel JD Gator."

Swisher Trailmower,

By Jeff57

"The mower deck and cutting blades are good. The only problem that I have is with the towing tonge. It is too light for the work that it must do. When you offset it, it bends very easy. I have to keep it directly behind the 4 wheeler. The control cable is too short also."
