great hose reel,

"I have to say that this is absolutely the best hose reel that I have had for home use. As a firefighter I use heavy duty reels on a regular basis. This is a great hose reel for home use. I use it almost daily and it has held-up very well showing no signs of wear. Great job Northern!"

Hose Reel Cart,
October 19, 2009
By Anonymous
from Chattanooga TN

"Fair price. Fairly easy assembling. Nice to be able to store and mover hose to where I need it. Rolls very easily. Assembly hardware could have been a heavier grade. Will probably have to replace hardware in the future. I don't believe rust will be an issue since I store it inside most of the time. This was the best price I had found after shopping nearby stores and on the internet."

Good Value on Wheels,

"This hose cart is very similar to one I bought earlier from another source. The Northern cart was about $40 cheaper and had a basket for items like nozzles and mower deck wash connectors. The quality is as good as the more expensive one and the extra feature is excellent. What's not to like?"

hose reel cart,
October 19, 2009
By bigshed

"The cart I purchased holds 300 feet of garden hose. From the start I had fun with the assembly of putting it all together. The next day I hooked it up to my outside water supply and gave it a good workout. I now have no doubt as to just how good and functional this cart works. I was so pleased with how practical it is and how much I liked it I did order another cart for the front side of my house. This cart is well worth its money and everyone would be well satisfied owning and using one. If I ever move I will be sure to take this item with me."

Will Rust Out!,

"As many of the other reviewers of this product, I was initially very happy with this purchase. However, 2 years later I had to throw this hose reel away because of extreme rust. IN MY OPINION DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU ONLY INTEND TO OWN IT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME."

Heavy Duty Garden Hose Reel,
July 20, 2009
By BobHay
from West Islip, NY

"I've tried several hose reels in the past and this one is far and above any of the others I've used. It's solid and can handle very long heavy duty garden hoses with ease. The large drum makes it very easy to unwind or wind up even the heaviest of hoses and the basket comes in handy for hose nozzles, etc. My only complaint with the product is that some of the parts tend to rust (I live near the ocean so the salt water contributes to this). However, even with the rust problem I have bought three of these as it's still the best I can find (even the higher priced models I've tried don't compare.) I bought one for double the price from a brand name hardware store and returned it as it couldn't match up to this one."

Space Saver Hose Reel,
July 20, 2009
By morriew

"I love having such a convenient way of storing all the hoses we use and the ease of moving this reel from our front yard to our back yard since we have almost two acres to take care of. It's also very heavy duty in handeling these heavy hoses."

Hose Reel Cart Product Review,
July 13, 2009
By Mike0709
from Fairfield County, Connectucut

"This hose reel cart is very sturdy and durable. The pneumatic tires make it very portable. My only concern is the connector between the short external hose and the brass female fitting on the hose reel. I have installed new washer(s) and cannot seem to get an airtight connection. There are fast drips. Overall if you are in need of moving a large quantity of hose around, say on a farm, this unit is very user friendly."

Functions great but quickly rusts,
May 28, 2009
By HotCarl
from Central VA

"The other reviews all detail the benefits of this cart, so I won't repeat them here. It serves its purpose and works very well.
On the minus side, the cart began to quickly rust and after only a few months. After a couple of years, the cart is now in pretty poor cosmetic shape.
I might suggest coating the entire hose cart with a can or two of clear laquer sparypaint before using- this might keep the rust at bay and make it worthwhile. I may purchase another one in the future and try this.
As a side note, I would also consider paying up to 3x more for a cart made of stainless steel in the same design. This would probably be the last cart you would ever need."
