Excellent item,July 13, 2009

"Recently we purchased this item. This is one of the best purchases that we have ever made. We had problems with the delivery company but went and got the generator and the transfer switch ourselves. After unloading it with our front-end loader, we uncrated the generator and found to our surprise and delight that it came with a pad to set it on. Once set up we had an electrician install the transfer switch. We already had installed a propane tank so all we had to do was hook up the propane tank to the generator. It was easy to install and set up. Once the transfer switch was installed via an electrician, we were very pleased with the system. Already we have had a power loss and the whole system came right on. It was not all that noisy. Once a week it comes on for maintenance. It doesn’t take all that much propane to run this system. I highly recommend this system. (Customer service was great dealing with.)"

Home 20 KW genset,April 21, 2008
By ralph4444from Rural, near Houston TX
"This replaces a 20KW PTO driven generator driven from my Diesel tractor. the problem I have is maintaining enough fuel for long power outages, we were out for 6 days after Hurricane Rita. I can keep at least 300 gallons of LP in the tank before hurricans season so this is the best solution. Received the genset and the truck driver got it off the truck and wheeled it onto my carport with no problem and no help from me. The genset is well made, however control wise it is primarily made to start automatically on loss of power. I have a manual transfer switch and reset the gen set for manual, which is easily done. I think this means I will have to exercize it manually also.
This thing weighs all of 600 lbs so you need some means to move it, four men or, in my case a tractor with a front end loader, even so it is not easy to move because the lift points are on the bottom, but possible Also no knockouts for the power outlet, and the power outlet is right above the LP inlet, which makes for some interesting conduit routing and requires a panel punch, which I have. I poured a slab for it but it comes with a plastic base which could probably be put directly on the ground.
The unit was well packaged, and appears to be very well made and designed. I was impressed with the quality of the unit. Access to all the components is good as three sides of the housing open up, and they are lockable to prevent tampering. My experiance with Briggs twin engines, I have several on other equipment, has been very good so I expect the same with this. I haven't actually used it yet but am quite confident that when I get the LP hooked up it will start right up and be available for use. I have a bird nest in the LP tank dome right now so when the little ones leave I will have the LP people come out and hook it up.
Hooking one of these up requires a bit of expertise, and I suspect most would have professionals do it. I am an engineer by profession, with a lot of farm experience, and can do most of this myself, except I'm not going to mess with the LP system, even though I know how to do it. I think this is a high quality well designed unit and is value priced. I would recommend it."
