"No problems with installation except that the only place on my generator where I could mount the wheels was on the very front. That means the lift weight is high. Otherwise it is well made and performs as advertized."

"Great kt, but the PHOTO IS NOT THE KIT. I am going to need to drill wholes into my frame and figure out how to use two handles (the offer was for one) instead. My generator frame is not built in the same design that this kit needs."

"Not sure what all the fuss is about..Anytime you see "universal" in the name ..you automaticly know you may have to adapt it to fit in someway! That said I ordered the wheel kit for my northstar trash pump,only had to drill 8 holes no big deal! done in 15 minutes & was wheeling the pump to the van! great well made kit!"

"Maybe I didn't examine my generator closely enough but since I bought it from Northern Tool and it said universal, I took their word. Anyway, my frame was not designed to accept this kit. I made some revisions and made it work but it was time consuming. Had I had the frame it was designed for, it would have been a half hour job to install it. The kit itself is great."

"Very pleased with this wheel kit for the money. It is made of quality material. I did have to purchase a section of 1'' tube for the handles but that was due to the configuration of my generator. Easy to install if you can use a drill & tighten a bolt."

You will have to drill thru frame!!!!,

"Sure this kit is functional and will do the job well. However, it would have been nice to know that this kit requires that you drill holes through the frame in order to attach it. Nowhere in the literature provided by Northern tool is there any mention made of this fact. It could just as easily been designed to use U-bolts. From the limited details provided by the picture and being that it is "universal," I expected to be able to attach it without having to compromise the frame. The last thing I wanted to do when I needed to use my brand new generator is immediately have to start drilling holes in it. The guy that said in another review that drilling holes was a given must have purchased one of these kits before, because Northern Tool sure doesn't let you know."

"i ordered the universal wheel kit from northern tool. it was for an onan generator that i ordered from northern tool. allthough the "universal kit" did NOT fit this generator i was able to modify it to work. i think northern should do compatibility checks. this kit allthough has been great."

"The kit came with good instructions and complete. Drilling holes in the generator frame for the wheels is a known, but had to add 1" square tubing to attach the handles because the frame didn't have the right configuration. The wheel kit has really saved lifting the 150 lb generator into my truck or camper and rolls well on rough terrain. Very sturdy also, depending on generator frame, easy to attach, I had to weld the tubing but didn't take long. A very sturdy kit, has held up to a trip to Colorado and several trips to the job site."
