Raintight Power Inlet, March 16, 2009
By Randy30 from Brentwood, NH

"The Raintight Power Inlet is an excellent product, I installed it on my parents house to go with the generator they bought. The area they live in has been hit by the ice storms this winter causing a lot of power outages. The Raintight Power Inlet made it easy to connect the generator to the house."

great way to transfer power, November 17, 2008
By dave469 from Texas

"I needed a way to be able to use the power of my portable generator to power the lights, receptacles and various tools in my shop/barn. This inlet box is just what I needed. Simple to wire and easy to use. Once again Northern Tool comes through."

Does the job, August 15, 2008
By qm7589 from Virginia

"At first I thought the product was a little pricey; that is until I went looking for the piece parts. If you purchase the 30A transfer switch you could remove the inlet connector and reuse it in a suitable box --- IF you can find one AND it meets code. All together I would recommend using this box as it fulfills all requirements."

Nice Inlet Box, August 13, 2008
By Whineslayer from Harpers Ferry, WV

"I would have preferred that this manufacturer had a box that would accept the 120V 3-wire (L1530C vs L1430C) but it's just a piece of metal that doesn't get connected so who cares ? Thus the 4 Stars. The quality of the unit that's offered, the L1430C is 5 stars. You couldn't make that mistake, could you, hooking up your gen set ? I used the exterior molding putty (the gray stuff that Plumbers & HVAC guys use to seal plumbing & HVAC inlets against weather). to seal the box against the vinyl siding. OK, it's drillin' & pullin the 10Ga. into the house that's the work, the box was a piece of cake to hook up. Since I went in thru the exterior joists attaching it wasn't a problem- If I was going in thru the sheathing you'd wanna find studs or use blocking to mount the box. Overall, quality made in USA electrical component. Now my emergency genset's cookin' & a piece of cake to hook up !
Throw the Main circuit breaker box to "Off", roll the genset out, fuel & hook it up, fire & then go inside & turn the transfer switches on. Done."

RELIANCE rain Tight 30 amp generator inlet box, August 11, 2008
By Guitarzan from Chicago

"Box is built very well. The door, or lid which covers the plug when not in use, has the appropriate tension to provide a water tight seal, without being too hard to open. My wife likes that feature. The box has side bottom and rear knockouts offering multiple mounting choices. The ground is also pre wired inside the box. I trust this box will hold up to the elements for many years."

Perfect, April 20, 2008
By ChrisD from Lebanon Mo

"With this power box installed hooking up my generator is so much easier and faster. NOTE: you will need a method to take your home/system off the your electricity provider's grid - a transfer switch or similar device."
