"I bought this generator for my business and thought it was great but then I bought a retirement home down on the coast in Florida and found out that they have frequent long outages. I bought the 2.4 L model with the aluminum case for the Florida house and it is a much better model. The 2.4 L model runs at 1800 RPM not the 3600 RPM this model runs at and is much quieter and uses less gas. Costs a little more but if you are in a remote area with frequently long outages you will thank yourself for getting the more expensive equipment. I found that the 1.6 L unit seems like it has to run hard to keep up with the demand while the larger unit just seems to loaf along. It is not all about how many KW's a unit has, you have to factor in how hard the engine runs. It is much harder for a motor to run all day flat out at 3600 RPM instead of a motor running at only 1800 RPM."

Great Generator,

"We purchased this generator as a disaster relief device for our company. It works well to power all of our necessary systems and some ancillary systems as well. Though we have noticed that cold greatly affects the time it takes to start-up it has yet to fail us both in the dead of winter and the worst of storms. I would recommend this generator to any small business, the elimination of downtime and protection of vital hardware has saved us greatly and offset the intial cost aswell."
