"I have a 2006 short bed Duramax, I don't know why GM put a 25 gal fuel tank in this truck. If the engineers can put that much engine in that small of a space they could have added an extra 9 gallons of fuel like they did in the long bed.
25 gal would be okay if you were just using the truck for normal driving, but when you add a toyhauler your millage drops to about half. When I go camping and leave from phoenix to go to the mountains I would need to fill up before going into the back country to assure that I could get back out to civilization, this always gave me an uneasy feeling.
I have a hard tonneau cover so I can't use a tank that goes over the top of the side of the truck, and using a tall tank robs me of usable space.
This tank is great I can pull the cover off and park the front end of a quad on the tank, so I don't lose much space. The aux line that feeds into the main filler neck works great. I added a manual valve to that line and keep it shut off until I need fuel when get to where I am going or to about 1/4 tank and I then open the valve up and it starts filling the tank.
The only thing that is bad, is the computer on the truck, it does not like the fuel gauge going up, consequently if it gets close to full, the fuel gauge goes to E and gives you yellow light. Just stop the truck and take a break, the computer will reset itself after you restart the truck after a bit. If you leave your valve open it will not over fill the tank if you use the the filler kit they have listed as a option.
I don't drive my truck much during the week, so I can pick the time and the place to fill up. Prices, location, and time are at my disposal not when I need them, this saves me money. I just got back from Vegas, I filled up here and still had 3/4 of a tank upon return. I am glad I purchased this tank and would highly recommend it to anyone that pulls a trailer."
