"I bought the first grinder because the "professional" grade grinder my father gave me a couple of years prior burned up. I was always cleaning out the fascia, tendons, etc. because they plugged up the plate. It was a pain to wash, take apart, and was quite slow. Honestly, I bought this one because it was cheap and I was low on funds. I was amazed at how well it worked. And how fast. I have worked in a number of commercial kitchens in the past. This little baby will keep up with most of the larger units. And I used an old dryer motor I salvaged. My ex-wife sold mine before I had a chance to rescue it from our house. Now that I am free from her, I am buying another one. Our group usually processes between 15 and 25 antelope and between 5 and 15 deer a year and occaisional elk. This is the best unit in my opinion. Especially for the cost. Don't let the few bad comments at the top stop you if you want to grind meat."

"I purchased this item about 6 mo. ago. Just tried to use it this past weekend. Very disappointed in its proformance. Would like to trade it in for item #168620.

"This Grinder is the best! I made sausage with it and the grinder worked flawlessly. It also stuffed first class polish sausage. I had a problem with the original thrust bearing, but the parts department made good on a replacement even though it was out of warrenty. I just can't say enough about Northern Industrial Tools customer service.
I must warn all that this is a dangerous machine. Espically if you were to get your hands into the hopper when it is moving (get a pusher and saftey hopper). Also It would be advisable to build a belt guard so you don't get your fingers in there.
I had an old 1/8 hp electric motor on it, and it would stall the motor, I now have a 1/2 hp, but I think anything over 1/4 hp would do.
This grinder is a bargin as long as you use safety precautions
Also stuffer and grinder parts can easily be obtained for this fine #32 grinder.

"After useing my brothers grinder to process deer, I just had to order my own. I can say that this is an exceptional grinder for the price anywhere. With the addition of an electric motor, thanks to the added feature of a v belt pulley, I can grind up pounds of venison on my own in very little time. "I bought this grinder because using the old hand crank grinder was a waste of time and effort. I mounted this grinder to a board and bolted down an electric motor I had, mounted a regular household lightswitch to it and it works great! It's kind of heavy because the board I used is a 2 X 10 X 24. I cut a U shape in the board so the hamburger could fall down into the bowl in the sink. The motor I used is a 3/4 HP, but that is overkill, I just had this one on the shelf. I now have 3 or 4 families bringing their grind meat to me. I grind & they wrap. Can't keep up with this thing!!"

"I purchased this grinder to help make sausage which it does quickly and effortlessly. Initially I used the large pulley and belt setup but because It took a lot of room I changed to a flexible coupling and a gear head motor. It works great and saves storage space."
