Hour Meter - Great Accessory,

"This maintenance meter is a nice device. Simple installation and easy to set up. A local shop has a similar meter that only records run time. For approximately the same price, this one does that and can be set for specific maintenance intervals (like 50 hour oil changes) and will warn you when it is due. It also provides running RPM (not much use for our application)."

"Very useful device. I'm using it on a generator mounted in a service truck. It's an easy way to monitor service intervals and total operating time. Also indicates that the generator is operating at correct speed."

"This is an excellent unit for any type of equipment that needs to be serviced on an hour basis such as lawnmowers, tractors, generators, any equipment that does not have a factory installed hour meter or tachometer. I have this on all of my equipment that needs to be serviced on an hour basis. The tachometer is also extremely useful as it allows the engine carbuerator, etc. to be adjusted for maximum power output. I have found all my equipment performs better and lasts longer with this item installed. I highly recommend it to any user. It is also extremely reliable, last 5 years plus and is reasonable in price. Try it, you'll love it."

"This one is very easy to install. Just wrap the red wire around one of the spark plug cables, follow the instructions for the set up (2 or 4 cycle engine) and it is ready for use. It makes for a good portable tach if you want to check your idling or top speed on your chainsaw, lawnmower or just about any other gas engine. If the cable is not long enough it seems to work just by extending the wires with regular hook up wire. But this might cause radio interference and shielded wire would be a better choice.
I am using it on a Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle and have only two misgivings. The processor is slow and there is a lag in the RPM indication when you accelarate or slow the engine down. And the non-replaceable battery is rated for 35000 hours which comes to 4 years not five. It might be possible to pry the back off and replace it when it dies."
