What a treat to have available., January 21, 2008
By Buddyboy3 from Arnold, MO

"I purchased this real a year ago and it has been hanging in my garage and what a step saver it is. I have used it to power my vacuum cleaner for the car, my shop vac and leaf blower to give me a little extra maneuvering room. It is a step saver that is really appreciated. When finished just roll back up and forget it until next time. Installation was a snap, and shipping was great. Couldn't be happier."

Super Convenient, November 2, 2009
By bp77 from Pittsburgh

"What a time saver! This cord reel prevents you from having to constantly unroll or untangle an extension cord. The wire guage is also adequate to handle most power tools."

Quality Reel, November 2, 2009
By PhxPhantom from Pottstown, PA

"Tough, high quality reel. Hung to top of garage for easy access to cord anywhere in garage and outside driveway. Only suggestion would be for company to include mounting screws or pins to go with mounting bracket attached to reel to add flexibility."

new shop, October 20, 2009
By toomany from Hudson, NY

"converting old barn to shop. The retractabel cord reel has helped in the conversion without a lot of electric cords laying around and will be of equal value for use in the finished shop. The cord reel works well and was a good value.."

Never there when I needed it., October 19, 2009
By Misterfixit from Eatonton, Georgia

"I was always so mad when i found that someone had taken my extension cord from my shop. With this product my problem was solved. I attached the retractable cord reel to the ceiling in the very center of the shop, just above head hight. There has not been a single time since I received this cord reel that it has been somewhere else. It has a nice heavy duty cord with three receptacle socket that is capable of handling multiple tools. The 40 foot cord allows plenty of coverage and is never in the way when it is stored. No more safety issues with cords lying on the floor to trip me. It is simple to put away when your project is finished and the best part of all, it is always there when you need it"

Poor quality, October 4, 2009
By sidecarmike from Boise, Idaho

"I have owned this electric cord reel for about a year. I have had no problems with the electrical part of the cord. The retracting mechanism is a piece of junk. Most of the time I could not keep the wire from being pulled back in. I resorted to putting a knot in the cord to prevent it from being pulled back in. Yesterday the rectacting mechanism broke. I disassembled the unit to find that the pawl is made of plastic and the plastic is not strong enough to handle the tension of the spring when it is fully wound up. Simply put, the designers of this unit used cheap plastic where steel should have been used."

Reel doesn't retract properly, October 3, 2009
By FrustratedWithQuality from Oakley, CA

"If you just want an extension cord just buy a plain extension cord. If you want a RETRACTABLE extension cord, don't buy this one. The retraction mechanism needs so much help it would be easier to just use an extension cord.

The 12 AWG cable and connectors are great, but the retraction trouble totally offsets this advantage. Even though the product is inexpensive, it's not worth the continued hassle of fighting it each time.

This product is DEFINITELY NOT Industrial Quality as advertised"

retractable cord, July 14, 2009
By eisoccerdad from Hauppauge NY

"I found the overall construction to be good, but the retraction on the cord is not very good. it takes me a few minutes and a fair amount of patience to get the cord fully retracted again and that alone takes away the hole reason for having it.
I have been meaning to take a closer look to see if i can tighten the spring at all and if i can do that then my whole view of this product would change."

Great extension cord, May 11, 2009
By WallytheArmor from North Georgia Mountains

"Just hung the unit today. Tested the retractor numerous times and it worked well. Since my garage ceiling is 16' high I left 9' of cord hanging which eliminated any potential problem with retraction binding. I liked it looks and the quality of the housing. I was a little afraid of quality after reading some reviews, however, the quality looks good. I'm looking forward to not having to drag out cords every time I want to do something."

Great Product For The Money!, April 2, 2009
By Iam4aces from Washington State

"I purchased two of these, one for use in my garage and one in my shop. I could not be happier. I mounted both on the ceilings. Installation was quick and easy.
Yes, the rewind takes a little playing with, but they do rewind fully every time and without a bunch of hassle. It would be difficult to find a better product for the money."
