"Unit worked well but follow tip from other reviewer re soap/water solution for remove/install and purchase large spoon with it (about $7) as it really helps to lift tire over rim with spoon and run remover tool around from it on opposite side of center post.
Perfect for restoral work on antique tires where rusted rims cause rim leaks. Remove from rim, power wire brush off rust with heavy 7" grinder brush, acetone clean and paint with 2 coats Rustoleum; reinstall - no more leaks!
Very satisfied with unit - also a great price.........."

Portable Tire Changer,

By earthcrawler

"Bought it to change tires on my Quad and Dirt Bike. Bought the motorcycle tire adapter also. It worked pretty good. The tire bar was a little rough, I took my Dremel tool to it to polish it down a little. It was scratching my black rim on my motorcycle. The instruction manual was pretty useless. Should be bolted down to be stable, I fought it trying to free-stand."

Tire Changer,

"I purchased this item several years ago and rate it as an excellent item and a must for home garages if you wish to do tire/tube repair. I have used this little workhorse on my autos, light/medium duty trucks/front tractor tires/ATV's/utility tractors(front)/hay wagons/ and other small implement tires. I bolted the machine to the floor in my garage and have really used and abused it over the past few years and it continues to perform outstanding. Use the right lubricants when mounting and dismounting tires and it will work like a charm. I couldn't afford the fancy tire changers as I don't have that much of a use on a consistant basis, so when you compare the price to what it has done for me over the years it owes me nothing. I owe it. Thanks for providing an excellent piece of machinery for a great price."

Torin Tire Changer,
August 11, 2008

"I have dismounted and mounted several automobile tires with this tool. I also recomend using a lubricant such as WD-40 or soapy water in a spray bottle. I am very glad I bought a 30" curved spoon to go with the tire changer. I use the spoon with the supplied red bar in a scissors motion around the center post. Without the spoon, the tire/rim has a tendency to turn on the tool. Do read the instructions, I lost time assuming how bead breaking was accomplished. This tool has helped me separate unwanted tires from wanted rims and vise-versa. I can now clean and paint the rims for a better seal. No regrets."

"It is a little smaller than I thought ,and it is hard to get the wheel clamped down hard enough that it doesn't turn. Other wise it serves it's it's purpose for the amount of tires that I change at home."

"The base is built ok. The upper part that hold sthe wheel secure is Extremely Cheap! If you buy this product, know someone that can weld so it can be modified. My first thought was to send the piece of junk back. Very dissappointed."

Not what I expected,

"With a little bit of elbow grease this product will work okay for changing steel rims. For anything else this product is NOT RECOMMENDED. There is no protective coating on any of the tools including the bead breaker, wheel holder, and tire bar, and the nice Torin red will write on your wheels like crayon, and erases about as well too. We tried this out on a friend's old aluminum mags as a trial run and the tire bar chewed up the aluminum on the lip of the wheel and the center where the wheel clamps down.
I found it very difficult to keep the wheel from turning when rotating the tool around the center post. I also found it difficult to keep the tool from slipping off of the rim when remounting, but this may be due to most aluminum wheels having a different type of lip than steel wheels. Build quality is okay, but after seeing how it was put together, I could have welded this up at home; just a few pieces of channel iron for the base and some steel tubing for the shaft.
All in all, this product is best left to mounting and dismount steel rims that have no finish or that you do not mind getting scratches and red marks all over."

Portable Tire changer,

"I have had one of these for several years now and they work great. To keep mine portable and usable anywhere, I bolt it to a 4 foot square piece of plywood and then use my own body weight to hold it in place during use. I find it works best if after breaking the bead loose from the rim, spray the bead all the way around with WD-40 and the tire slides right over the rim almost effortlessly. The same is true with installation. This tool makes it incredibly easy to change and / or repair your own tires, especially when there are no tire shops open."
