pic of transverse engine support in use,

"I used this engine support to lower the engine and 4T65E auto trans on my 2002 Chevrolet Impala. I left the trans connected to engine. I removed minimal items to get at trans side cover to replace 4th hub and clutch assembly behind the channel plate. My Impala lost 4th gear and I didn't want to pay $2000 for an overhaul. Everything else was OK in the trans. I did replace the solenoids and replaced booster valve in valve body with a sonnex booster valve. Car shifts like new now. Very little contamination in trans except fine metal particles that wore off splines of 4th hub and clutch assembly due to GM not heat treating the splines in 2002. My car had 83,400 miles on it. I had been driving in 3rd gear for about 6 months while doing research on this fix. The only complaint about the transverse bar is that the transverse bar hook support does not slide transversly to get a better alignment of the existing engine hooks on the exhaust manifold bolts. The other bar can be positioned to align over the forward exh manifold engine hook. I used a floor jack to further tilt the engine and trans assembly for easier access of side cover near left front wheel. The support is very durable and I never worried about the engine crashing to floor. Did not use the safety wire straps included."
