A Battery Saved Will Pay for this Maintainer!,

"If I had a battery for every 5 batteries that have died over the years I would have enough batteries to last the rest of my life! However in the real world such is not the case until now. This Battery Minder came highly recommended, but as always I remained unconvinced. At 60 I have extensive experience in the 12v world Boats, Cars, Motorcycles, Aircraft even off grid 12v home systems and this is the first charger that has worked as advertised. Mind you not all batteries can be brought back but two of the five I have were restored and now maintained until I use them next. It is well designed and comes with the accessories one needs to meet most hook up needs. If you have any vehicles that sit unused a lot this is a must have. Boats, Rv's, Quads, PWC's, Planes this is a must have. I use mine in the shop where I have a charging station to keep my batteries. I switch between them with the maintainer. However as a matter of convenience I am purchasing two other's to permanently install on my Boat and Trailer. Thanks Northern for carrying such a good product at a reasonable price."

"I purchased this unit to charge the chassis batteries on my motor home, dual 12 volt type. I permanently mounted the unit and plug into a GFCI outlet on board in a storage bay adjacent to my battery bay. The instructions were clear, but quite involved. This is not a plug-and-play charger though it could be used as such; it is intended to do full, maintenance [trickle] or desulphuration charging of batteries to keep them fully charged and extend their life. In order to do this the existing charge level must be determined. Then, a slow full charge must be done, including removing any sulphur on the battery plates. Then the maintenance charge level set and kept to keep the batteries charged. It is not rocket science at all, but if you want to charge your batteries correctly and protect your investment in them, this is the product for you. I would rate it even higher than 4 stars, but I have only had it installed about 4 months now and it is premature to evaluate its long term benefit. So far, it has worked perfectly and my batteries are fully charged. I am happy with my purchase."

"My shop makes keys for cars and trucks that have been purchased at auctions or repossessed. Often the newer cars that have transponder security systems come in with no batteries or dead batteries. It's important to have a fully charged battery to program these keys to these vehicles. We try to keep at least 2 charged batteries on hand at all times. The problem we were having was we don't have someone to check the chargers all the time resulting in ruined batteries. The BatteryMinder solved that problem for us, as it goes into float mode as soon as the battery reaches it charged state. It also was able to bring a gel pack battery back from the dead that we were getting ready to send to the recycler. Instructions are simple and direct. The only thing I would change, that seems to be a problem with these small units, the clamps for the battery terminals could use a little more clamping force for better contact."
