Solar-Powered Trickle Charger — 5 W,

"I was very surprised and impressed at how much voltage I was getting from this charger with little to no sun. I used a 12 volt tester on the charger and even went inside the garage so it only saw day light and still I was getting 13.2 volts on my meter. Well worth the investment especially if you have batteries that sit dormant and loose charge such as a camper. This charger will keep the batteries up for you so when you are ready to use the camper the batteries will be fully charged for you without worry. I highly recommend this solar charger."

Perfect for my riding mower battery,

"I highly recommend this product. Despite my initial apprehensions, this solar cell trickle charger is perfect for my need, and does exactly what it advertises. I was apprehensive because of a few of the reviews. But it continues to keep the 12V battery of my riding mower topped-off between uses so I am very glad I got it. The winter months of cold temperatures and disuse would drain the battery (due to lead sulfate build-up on the plates) so that I was lucky to get even 2 summers use out of a battery. After 5 months of constant use, the voltage remains as high as it was when first purchased - which also prevents lead sulfate from building-up. My solar cell charger hangs like a picture over one of the 2 windows in my shed (see photos). It seems sturdy enough to withstand the summers and winters inside a shed, and the battery clips that come with the unit make it easy to connect/disconnect to/from the mower."

Good for powering small PC fans too...,

"I used this product for a small solar air heater project, as opposed to using as a strict trickle charger. Works well powering a small PC fan. Puts out a lot of voltage in good sun. In my case, the PC fan is too large to be powered under overcast skies."

"Great product. Have had one for years (boat) and just got another for a jetski. Best feature is it can be used outdoors as opposed to some other models that are indoors-only. Very easy to connect and lasts a long time. Great for mantaining a charge on batteries that get infrequent use."

Northern Indust. Solar Panel-5 watts,
July 20, 2009
By CamperDoug from Burbank,CA
"Bought this panel a couple months ago and been testing it under different conditions.
I use this panel to trickle charge my camper battery.
It work very well, keeping the battery (Optima) charged after using the lights and inverter the night before.
Made a bracket that holds it and can be rotated during the day to catch direct sunlight. The indirect sunlight will charge the battery but find that direct light will charge it faster."

Excellent for the money!,

"I purchased this charger about 2 months ago and it is exactly what we needed to keep our battery topped off in our camper. It is not a true battery "charger" as it is only rated to put out 5 watts, but is a battery maintainer (trickle charger). Now we do not have to run an extension cord across the driveway to the camper to keep the battery charged or worry about a dead battery when it's time to head to the campground. It's always ready to go! It is extremely easy to install and comes with alligator clips to hook up directly to the battery and a cigarette lighter plug for use in a vehicle. We simply plugged ours into one of the 12V outlets in the camper, set it in a window facing the sun and the installation was done! It took more time to open the package then it took to install. This would be perfect for storing any type of item with a 12V battery, generator, snowmobile, ATV, motorcycle, lawn tractor, etc. If you have anything with a 12V battery that gets stored for any period of time, this is a MUST have to avoid a dead battery when it's time to put it back to work!"
